There was an awful fire that came rather close to our town, even home, in Marsing. They were evacuating pretty close to us; however, because of the many wonderful firefighters they kept us and many others safe. Our hearts and prayers were with all the ranchers, families, and animals that we love so dearly. Here is a little bit of information out of an article on August 19, 2015...
"A wildfire that scorched more than 280,000 acres across Idaho and eastern Oregon is on its last legs.
The Soda Fire was 95 percent contained by Wednesday morning, freeing up fire crews to depart for other wildfires burning around the region.
Fire managers say they still don't have an estimated date for full containment, but things are beginning to wind down."
Below are a couple of pictures that Scott took from the back of our house. We smelled ashes and inhaled smoke for days!
