October Fun All Month Long!

We had so much fun at the beginning of the month with our trip to Utah and Colorado, but the fun didn't stop there.  We also got to go to Linder Farms and then went to trunk-or-treat at the church for some more good times.

Linder farms is such a fun place with so much to do....

 bouncing...

 mazes...

 climbing...

 slides...

 train rides...

petting zoo with lots of animals...

 pony rides...

AND, last but not least, pumpkin patches. We even got to see Buster Bronco there!!!

Cohen got to do our annual pumpkin carving with Daddy.  He wanted to do the haunted house one! :)

Then there was trunk-or-treat.  Mommy made the costumes (first time EVER to sew clothing) and Cohen got to pick what they were. So, Cohen chose Trey to be Skully and him to be Jake from the Neverland pirates.  It was so cute because he wanted mommy to be Captain Hook and daddy Izzy...however, mommy barely had enough time to do their costumes so maybe next year ;) I would have totally dressed up like Captain Hook too; however, don't think we would have been able to get Scott out their as Izzy ;)

His poor boots were a disaster; however, surprised how well the others turned out...

Cohen as his silly self putting a clown nose on his privates :)  He loves to be funny!!!
Hope everyone's October was as memorable as ours!

Uncle Kelby and Aunt Chelsea with Trey! Love them!

Everyone got a kick out of our boys in pony tails!  They liked it too! :)

Sooooo good to see everyone!  We love and miss all!  Cannot WAIT until we go back.  Thank you so much for flying us out, Dad!!!

Colorado Family Time!

What a wonderful trip spent with family and friends. We first took off to Utah to go and spend time with Adam and Tera while they were sealed together in the Salt Lake City temple on October 14th.  Scotty and I were their escorts.  We had a great time and were so grateful for the opportunity to be there with them during that very special occasion.  We are so very happy for their family.  The next day was our 9 year anniversary.  Tera and I were treated to a swedish package at a spa that morning.  We got an one hour massage, one hour facial and one hour pedicure.  It was so nice!  That evening, all four of us went out to dinner to Tuscanos in Provo, Utah.  It was absolutely amazing.  Of course, Scotty and I finished out our date with a famous stop to the Walmart.  It totally reminds us of old times!  One of those oldies but goodies :)  Cohen and Trey got to stay and play with Grandma and Grandpa Mangelson while we were out and about.  They are so lucky to have great grandparents like them! Here is a picture of Adam and Tera's family special day:

Then, the boys and I flew to Colorado on the 17th.  Dad picked us up at the Denver airport and we met Kelby and Chelsea at Dad's that night. It was so nice to share our time with them as well.  Scott drove our car and dogs back to Idaho that night and flew out the next morning to pick up our rental and meet us at Dad's house.  We got to be in Colorado until Sunday, October 20th.  Dad and Laura threw a big dinner Thursday night where friends and family could come meet Trey and visit with all of us.  It was so awesome to get to see everyone and spend some time visiting.  We loved it!

Cohen got to ride his Little Buck.  Unfortunately, he had his first fall from the horse.  It made him a little timid but he still enjoyed riding in the wagons and letting Poke drive him all around (so mad I didn't get any pics of that).  Dad also bought all the grandchildren some guns.  Scott, Kelby and Cohen got to take Trey's Savage out and try it out.  It was Cohen's first time to shoot a gun.  He had a blast.  Check out the cute pics:

Grandpa and Grandma Hartshorn go to meet Trey for the first time.  It was so nice to see and visit with them as well.  These are special pictures to me:

Saturday night Aunt Shawna made us dinner and we got to go and see their new house.  The meal was delicious and we were in such good company.  We love that family so much.  We also got to meet Tedothy, Matthew's pet gecko.  Cohen was in LOVE!  He actually listened to Aunt Shawna really well and handled Tedothy perfectly.  You know, I have to admit, he was really cute but I don't know if I can agree to a possible 20 year commitment with those little guys. Here is Cohen and Tedothy:

My editing is being silly....so, the second part of the pictures from the trip will be on another post.

Trey at Eight Months!!!

Holy moly! Before I know it, I will be planning his first birthday.  Oh my.  He is such a little doll face.  Trey is a perfect addition to our family.  He's a pretty happy guy! Here is an update on our little man:
  • Pulled self up on Cohen's bed for first time October 4, 2013
  • Fell off mama's bed for first time October 5, 2013
  • First small bloody nose from falling off the bed October 5, 2013 :(
  • First plane ride to Colorado October 16, 2013
  • First time to meet Great Grandma and Grandpa Hartshorn, Uncle Kelby and Aunt Chelsea, Kerry and Shawna's family and many other family and friends in Colorado October 17, 2013
  • Second plane ride October 20, 2013
  • Started to cruise on furniture a little bit around October 20, 2013
  • Started "traditional crawling" October 25, 2013 (you have been completely satisfied with just army crawling for weeks now)
  • Started millet, zucchini, broccoli, flax seed and cauliflower this month
Mommy's Notes to Trey:  You have had such a busy month just full of milestones.  You have taken off.  You try to climb everything and you are all over the house getting in to EVERYTHING.  You are so much more adventurous and "not afraid" than Cohen was at this age.  You love to dance to music. You love to play with Cohen and you think he is sooo funny!  You still don't have any teeth.  You really dislike to hold still for a bum change, or even put any clothes on for that matter.  It takes forever to change and dress you.  You are now eating three meals a day.  You simply don't want to sleep through the night for mommy either.   We are having a hard time getting you on a sleep schedule we are completely happy with.  Hopefully, soon.  You are a complete joy in our lives and a perfect addition to our little family!

Red Rock Relay Race!

Scott and I ran the Red Rock Relay Race in Southern Utah September 12th and 13th.  Some friends from our ward invited us to run it with them.  We are so glad they did.  What an accomplishment.  It was a 187 mile race.  We started at Brianhead ski resort and ended in Springdale, Utah.  Springdale is close to St. George.  We were a 12 man team.  We each ran 3 legs a piece.  Scott ran 7 his first, 4.6 his second and 3.5 his third.  I ran 3.87 on the first, 6 on the second and 3.2 on the third.  We finished 34th out of 99 teams and ran it in 30 hours and six minutes.  So fun!  Hard....but fun!!!!

The finish line!!!

 Our team!!!

So exhausted, but so worth it!

My cute hubby!  He helped me so much my second leg.  I ran 6 miles straight up hill on a dirt road and it was POURING on me!  He was awesome support and encouragement.  Love him!
