Party Time!

We finally got to celebrate Cohen's birthday with the family.  We went to a park in Nampa right next to a nice pool where they could all go swimming.  The night before the party, I got this bright idea to make Cohen his own cake.  It was a healthy chocolate cake.   I got the recipe from my favorite blog, chocolate covered katie.  She rocks at good tasting, healthy stuff.  Then, I decided to make a snake out of fondant since Cohen was having a reptile party.  I was quite pleased how it turned out.  I even painted it.  The only thing that gave me fits were his eyeballs.  I am not good at those at all :/  Cohen thought I was amazing so that is all that mattered to me.  There was a couple of definite "party fails" since I decided to have this outdoor party.  I made some incredibly delicious home made cookies-n-cream ice-cream that didn't quite even make it to the party without being completely liquid.  Then, I had cupcakes made special for his party.  Well, Trey dropped them in the box and they melted pretty good by the time people got to eat them.  Then, I made another delicious "dirt" dessert that got put down where the ice was so nobody even ate any of it because they didn't see it.  All that hard work…sigh…gone just like that…sigh :(  

Where is my baby? 

Cohen loves his cousins. So grateful they all could come celebrate this special day. There was Joplyn, Ryder, Sailor, Skylar, her friend, Warren, Ethan, Jarom, Sienna, Stella, and lots of aunts and uncles.  

It never fails.  Trey always seems to find the mud puddle and proceeds to fall in it.  Yep, he did this before the party even really started.  Luckily, we were going swimming anyway so I just let him wash off in the pool :)

Cohen is Five!!!!!!!!!

On Cohen's birthday, I let him plan out our day.  We started off by going to Toys R Us and he got to pick out his present.  He decided on a remote control snake.  Then, we ate at Chick-fil-a followed by some swimming action.  After we finally got home, we played with play-doh and Grandma and Grandpa Mangelson's gift was waiting at our house for Cohen.  He was so excited.  His party isn't for another week or so.

Canyon County Fair Time!

We decided to go to the fair as a family one Saturday.  It was so fun.  We ate good food, saw an awesome reptile show, played games, got face paintings, and rode some rides together.  We almost took an actual helicopter ride; however, we backed out because they wouldn't allow all four of us at once.  On a side note, Scotty finally rode his first roller coaster with Cohen.  Wait for it…it's a wild one ;)

A free reptile show.  This was the show I was trying to get booked for Cohen's birthday; however, he must have been too busy with all of the fair shows and that.  I guess we lucked out and saw it for free.  Unfortunately, Cohen never got picked to go help out.  He was SOOO SAD.

Poor Trey couldn't ride most of the rides.  Believe me…that kid would have went on every ride.  There is no fear with that boy.

Trey and I won his hat playing a rubber ducky game.  It only cost $5 to play. What a deal (sarcasm)!

Lo and behold, there is the picture that captured Scott's first roller coaster ride.  I am not going to lie, his facial expressions at time showed a little concern ;)

There are the paintings.  Cohen got a dinosaur and Trey some spiders! Too cute!

Just Another Fishing Day

Scott found Cohen's new love.  Unfortunately, they haven't made it out much this year.  Even though this cute kid hasn't even caught a fish yet, he thinks it is the best thing ever to do with his Daddy.  I love those two!!!!

Happy Independence Day!

This is Scotty's favorite holiday.  It is our wish that our boys can grow up in the great country that we got to grow up in.  Our chances seem a little scary.  We hope that chance is still alive.  All worries aside, we are always so happy to celebrate the great freedoms we have in this country.  We are so grateful to those who have and still make this country free!!!!

On July 3rd, we were invited to go to the Folwell's for a BBQ, swimming, and fireworks. We had such a wonderful time.  They are fun people.  Trey was stealing the show with his funny and cute personality and he was eating it up!

On the actual 4th, we went to Boise with Spencer, Kelly, and their  family to watch the fireworks at Camel Back Park.  The boys had a blast hiking up and watching the show.

Happy Father's Day 2015

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful Dads, especially mine and my children's Daddy.  We love you Scotttyyy!

This year I was in charge of Father's Day for the primary. They made them a home made tie where they answered some pretty hilarious questions. They also took home a cupcake to their pops.  I hope all the Dads enjoyed it.

The Tball Experience

Well, this summer I had so many fun things planned out for the boys to keep them busy.  After swimming lessons, I learned that I probably will wait one more year to put Trey in a structured sport since he is so busy and loves to do his own thing.  Then, after t-ball, we decided Cohen needs to have another year to appreciate the opportunity to do these fun sports.  Let's just say that Cohen did not find t-ball very fun AT ALL.  It was just way too boring and he would rather be doing something else.  He was seriously that kid out in the out field doing somersaults,  picking grass, putting his head in his glove, and even running off the field to ask us how much longer he has to go through this torture.  No matter what we did or say, we could not convince him to stay out there and be ready for the ball because his team really needed him.  Now, everyone who knows me understands how hard this was on this mommy who LOVES to play sports and COULD NOT WAIT until she could start watching and teaching her own children a thing or two.  I think I might have to wait for Trey to get older.  I am hoping he will fulfill my "competitive sports" need.  

Trey loved to share his snacks with the team :/ He also loved to run out in the middle of the game too!

He is so stinking cute.  He hasn't really learned the meaning of the word hustle yet, either.  He's so funny just trotting down the bases.
